Part of Madeira’s natural park, this trail is located on the east side of the Island, right at the tip of Caniçal. Along the way walkers can marvel at the fabulous scenery of the north and south coast of the Island. The sensation provided by the appreciation of the serenity of the southern sea contrasting with the aggressiveness of the northern sea is indescribable. On the horizon, to the south we can see the Desertas Islands and to the north the “Golden Island” of Porto Santo. Along the way, in the typical wind of this area, you can see beautiful specimens of the region’s unique flora and fauna. There are also some very curious rock formations, the result of the island’s volcanic origins. Take the opportunity to appreciate their details. After a few kilometres, go down to the seaside and enjoy the calm and freshness of the turquoise sea. Take the opportunity to go for a swim and return home fresher and lighter. Have a nice walk!
